In 2016, UPC Schweiz engaged Amdocs to upgrade Amdocs Kenan as a Subscription and Recurring Billing solution to enable next-generation, convergent billing and monetization for UPC Cablecom, Liberty Global’s Switzerland subsidiary. The program explicitly targeted billing and finance and the order-to-cash processes across Switzerland, with an objective to accelerate time-to-revenue while minimizing customization and operational disruption during the upgrade.
The upgrade emphasized convergent billing and monetization capabilities within Amdocs Kenan, including recurring billing engines, product and pricing catalog configuration, rating and invoice generation, and order-to-cash orchestration. Implementation planning prioritized configuration-driven changes and standardized product models to reduce bespoke code, preserve existing financial controls, and enable faster service activation and billing cycles.
Operationally the deployment scoped Amdocs Kenan to serve Switzerland billing and finance functions and to integrate into existing OSS BSS touchpoints through standard interfaces during cutover. Governance and rollout followed a staged, controlled approach that involved finance and order-to-cash stakeholders, focused testing and change control, and sequencing designed to limit disruption to customer billing while transitioning to the upgraded Amdocs Kenan Subscription and Recurring Billing platform.
