The implementation consolidated six different client and patient information systems across Ostrobothnia county into a single documentation platform to standardize recordkeeping across the wellbeing services county. Tietoevry Lifecare EHR was configured to provide a real time comprehensive view of client and patient information and to support social and primary healthcare, Vaasa Central Hospital, and other specialized healthcare units. The solution includes the Citizen's health service for patient access and digital transactions, and it leverages an open data model that permits customization to customer workflows and the effective use of clinical and operational data, including scenarios for artificial intelligence enabled analytics. The delivery covered the county operational footprint of 14 municipalities, approximately 176,000 residents, and the work of some 8,000 social and healthcare professionals, with phased rollouts beginning October 2024 and the hospital patient information system implementation entering a critical phase starting on the last weekend of March. Project support and operational stabilization were provided by the county's own experts, 2M-IT, and Tietoevry Care through enhanced on site presence and phone lines. Governance changes emphasized uniform operating models across the area to improve coordination of care phases and procedures, and to reduce the risk of errors by making up to date client and patient information accessible to all participants in the care process. Tietoevry Lifecare EHR is presented as part of a broader footprint, with Lifecare currently in use across 15 wellbeing services counties covering over 3 million Finnish citizens, which supports reuse of configuration patterns and interoperability approaches across Finnish public healthcare organizations. |
