In 2010, Vacon Oyj implemented Basware Procurement. The Basware Procurement deployment was configured to support purchase ledger accounting and integrated with Epicor iScala ERP and Basware IP systems. The implementation covered procurement and accounts payable functions across finance and purchasing teams in the company of about 1,600 employees.
Basware Procurement was configured to handle standard Procurement capabilities, including electronic purchase requisition and purchase order processing, approval workflows, and supplier invoice orchestration. Invoice capture and processing leveraged Basware IP to centralize invoice intake and perform invoice to purchase order matching before posting to the purchase ledger in Epicor iScala. The deployment emphasized document based invoice processing and automated matching to align procurement transactions with accounting entries.
Operational integration routed validated invoice and purchase order data from Basware Procurement into Epicor iScala to maintain a single source of record for purchase ledger accounting. Governance changes established structured approval paths and centralized controls for purchase to pay, with role based approvals and workflow rules enforced in the Procurement system. The architecture combined a Procurement front end, invoice automation via Basware IP, and ERP posting into Epicor iScala to create an end to end purchasing and accounts payable chain.
