In 2018, Varmevarden deployed Insightsoftware BizVIew as its EPM solution to centralize budgeting, planning, forecasting and reporting across its district heating operations. Varmevarden is based in Örebro and operates energy services including district heating across Sweden, Finland, Norway, the Netherlands and the Baltics, managing roughly 350 sites.
The implementation configured Insightsoftware BizVIew to consolidate transactional and planning data from six different ERPs into a single planning and reporting layer. Functional modules implemented included budgeting, planning, forecasting and management reporting, with dashboarding and consolidated figures that provided the finance organization with unified scenario inputs and visibility.
Operational scope focused on the finance and planning functions and extended visibility to site and group level figures to support fuel procurement, regulatory and tax related planning workflows. Data orchestration relied on scheduled feeds into BizVIew from the heterogeneous ERP landscape and on self service entry points to capture local site assumptions and driver based planning inputs.
Governance and workflow adjustments established clearer end user ownership and simplified data maintenance, with business users able to populate and maintain Insightsoftware BizVIew directly. The deployment addressed limitations of the old planning solution, reduced manual data feeding from six ERPs, and delivered the reported outcomes of improved stability, flexibility and visibility for the finance team.
