In 2021, Venmo integrated Ingo Payments into its mobile application to launch a Cash a Check feature in the United States, using the Payment Processing capabilities to support a finance and disbursements use case. The implementation enabled eligible users to cash printed, payroll, and government checks inside the Venmo app, and it included an option for faster instant funding that connected check acceptance to the Venmo mobile wallet experience.
The implementation relied on Ingo Payments functionality centered on mobile check capture and validation, image-based check acceptance workflows, and accelerated funding paths. Ingo Payments provided the check-capture and decisioning capability that automated acceptance and funding flows, while the feature was surfaced within Venmo’s existing mobile onboarding, deposit and wallet funding user journeys.
Integrations were explicit, the deployment used Ingo’s mobile check-capture service and operated in partnership with First Century Bank to enable deposit and disbursement rails inside the United States. The rollout in January 2021 targeted select eligible customers, and the operational scope was limited to in-app users in the United States, aligning check acceptance with Venmo’s mobile wallet balance and instant funding options.
Governance and workflow changes focused on eligibility gating and operational underwriting for check cashing, plus embedding check-capture and funding flows into Venmo’s product and compliance processes. The initiative increased accessibility to stimulus and payroll disbursements by providing an in-app cash a check capability tied directly to Venmo’s wallet experience.

In 2023, Venmo deployed InComm Incentives Rewards and Recognition to enable in-app digital gift card commerce directly inside the Venmo wallet. Operational coverage was focused on CRM and consumer payments in the United States, with the integration operating inside the Venmo mobile wallet. The integration delivered instant digital delivery and improved gifting user experience for Venmo users, increasing gifting options and convenience on the platform.
