SAP Legacy SAP R/3 - Logistics Execution System (LES) Logistics Management SCM n/a 2009 2009 In 2009 Victor Reinz Germany engaged SALT Solutions to implement SAP R/3 Logistics Execution System (LES) for a new pallet and pack warehouse in Neu-Ulm, Germany. The deployment addressed core Logistics Management functions and was announced in March 2009 with a target operational date of September 2009. The implementation centered on SAP R/3 Logistics Execution System LES capabilities that support warehouse operations, Pick & Pack workflows, and cross-docking processes. The project explicitly included TRM functionality to enable stapler and route optimization inside the intralogistics environment, aligning SAP-driven control with physical material handling equipment and picking sequences. Architecturally the solution integrated SAP R/3 LES with TRM components to provide direct SAP-driven material-flow control for the Neu-Ulm site, enabling orchestration of picking, packing and intra-warehouse routing. SALT Solutions executed the integration work and configuration to ensure the LES governed intralogistics sequencing and stapler routing as part of daily warehouse execution. Governance and rollout followed a site-focused intralogistics program for Neu-Ulm, with process changes concentrated in warehouse and distribution operations and close alignment between SAP configuration and on-floor handling procedures. The initiative aimed to double warehouse capacity and improve operational excellence through centralized SAP control of material flows.
