In 2018 Vilmers implemented Lectra Furniture On Demand to support a make-to-order production model and address nesting needs. The deployment targeted the Nesting category and was selected explicitly because the solution would be fully integrated into Vilmers’ ERP system, a requirement the company linked to faster, more efficient planning and reduced mistakes in order processing.
Lectra Furniture On Demand was configured to drive MTO nesting workflows, with standard Nesting capabilities applied such as automated cut planning, nesting optimization and order-driven layout generation. Configuration work connected nesting outputs to product structure and material consumption logic, aligning cut plans with order priorities to streamline planning tasks.
The implementation integrated Lectra Furniture On Demand with Vilmers’ ERP to exchange order and planning data, enabling planners to source order information and push optimized nesting instructions into production workflows. Operational scope centered on the planning department with downstream effects on shop floor cut planning and material usage control.
Governance and process change focused on centralizing nesting decisioning within planning to reduce manual errors and accelerate throughput, reflecting the company’s stated expectation that planners would work much faster, more efficiently and avoid mistakes.
