SABRE Legacy Sabre Retail Intelligence Aviation ERP ERP Services and Operations n/a 2023 2023
In 2023, Virgin Australia deployed Sabre Retail Intelligence as part of an expanded long-term commercial and distribution agreement with Sabre, positioning the application inside its Aviation ERP technology footprint. The agreement includes a renewed multi-year GDS distribution commitment to ensure Sabre-connected travel agencies can continue to shop, book and service Virgin Australia offers with speed and scalability. The deployment centers on two modules from the Sabre Retail Intelligence suite, Sabre Air Price IQ and Sabre Ancillary IQ, both powered by Sabre Travel AI. These modules introduce machine-learning driven fare and ancillary offer generation, moving the airline from static pricing rules toward intelligent real-time airfare and ancillary offers and enabling a trajectory toward continuous pricing and personalized shopping flows. Technically the implementation is layered on top of the carrier s existing Sabre ecosystem, integrating with Sabre s Passenger Service Solution, Fares Manager, E-commerce platform and Network Planning tools as well as ongoing use of Sabre Revenue Optimizer and Dynamic Availability. Operational ownership is concentrated in commercial, revenue management and e-commerce functions, while the distribution clause extends operational reach to Sabre-connected travel agencies across the carrier s route network. Governance is codified through the long-term strategic agreement with Sabre that ties retailing capability expansion to a future-focused distribution strategy, creating mechanisms for offer creation, prioritization and marketplace access. Process changes explicitly target pricing and offer workflows, shifting decisioning into machine-learning driven models and altering how commercial and inventory teams publish and manage fares and ancillaries. Explicitly stated outcomes for the Sabre Retail Intelligence deployment include improved traveler satisfaction and improved revenue management optimization, while also enabling Virgin Australia to deliver more relevant, personalized offers and strengthen marketplace position. Sabre Retail Intelligence is therefore positioned as a commercial and distribution layer within Virgin Australia s Aviation ERP architecture to support scaled retailing and continuous pricing initiatives.
