Sage Microsoft Dynamics AX Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) ERP Financial ERP n/a 2023 2024
In 2023 Virginia Dare Extract implemented Sage Business Cloud X3 (ex Sage ERP X3) as its ERP Financial platform, replacing Microsoft Dynamics AX. The rollout was scoped and led by the Vice President, Head of Information Technology to support product development, manufacturing, distribution and revenue operations across the organization. Sage Business Cloud X3 was configured to deliver core financial management alongside inventory control, procurement, order-to-cash and manufacturing transaction capabilities consistent with ERP Financial requirements. Configuration work emphasized traceability and batch-oriented manufacturing support aligned with the companys extract and flavor production workflows, and included role-based workflows and authorization controls for finance and operations teams. The implementation integrated Sage Business Cloud X3 with the companys SalesForce CRM and BatchMetrics MES for manufacturing execution, and tied into Microsoft Office 365 and Azure identity and productivity services. Infrastructure was transitioned onto cloud platforms with technology assets moved to Azure and AWS, while continuity planning retained three data centers and disaster recovery arrangements during and after the cutover. Governance for the program was formalized by securing management agreement on the ERP approach and reorganizing IT to align with the implementation, with the IT leader managing the move of all technology and operations to the new Carteret headquarters. The project is described as an active transformation from Microsoft Dynamics AX to Sage Business Cloud X3 with IT operating model changes to support steady state finance and manufacturing operations.
