In 2013 Vision Technologies implemented Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to centralize reporting and analytics for its custom internal CRM and Project Management applications. The deployment targeted the companys Analytics and BI needs, consolidating reporting workflows for a user base of approximately 350 across professional services operations.
The implementation emphasized a Microsoft SQL Server backend, with design, administration, and maintenance of the database tier to ensure data interoperability. Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) was used to provide report front ends in SSRS and Crystal Reports, while SSIS handled extract transform and load patterns into the accounting data warehouse, and SSAS supported analytical model capabilities commonly required for multi dimensional reporting.
Integrations were explicit and operational, linking the custom CRM and Project Management software to the accounting data warehouse, timekeeping systems, SharePoint, and Active Directory. The integration scope covered both transactional and directory services, enabling cross system reporting and access control as part of the Analytics and BI footprint.
Operationally the role combined software and database development in support of the Senior Software Developer with systems administration and desktop support for the MIS Director. Requirements gathering was conducted through inter departmental collaboration, stored procedures were developed and maintained in MS SQL Server, and report development was executed in Crystal Reports or SSRS to meet departmental reporting needs.
