The Sterling Background Check platform was used by HR to trigger and track screening actions alongside onboarding checklists, to produce employment and wage verifications, and to support termination and exit processes when screening records were required.
Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, HR staff created and revised SOPs to standardize screening cadence, coached end users on screening workflows and policies, and integrated screening steps into multi-state new hire tasks and enrollments. Sterling Background Check became the operational instrument for managing background checks for new hires, with HR governance focusing on consistent disposition, recordkeeping, and user training across hiring and payroll adjacent functions.

Configuration emphasized MRP and purchasing modules, including finished goods purchase order issuance, SKU master management for more than 1400 items, WIP reporting, and demand-driven reorder logic. The environment was used to coordinate purchase orders for Primos and Bushnell By Primos SKUs, manage FG buys and raw material buys that were cross-trained across product lanes, and support monthly projection and WIP reporting processes.
Operationally ECI Macola interfaced with operating and demand planning systems AS400 and Logility, and with the OMB Booking System, Expeditors, to align procurement and logistics workflows for overseas vendors. The implementation also managed transactional interactions with SAP ByDesign for specific Gold Tip finished goods activities and supported transfers to Bushnell Canada, while working alongside Global Product Lane, Sourcing, Logistics, QA, Accounts Payable and International Customer Service teams.
Governance centered on process controls for purchase order issuance, vendor monthly projections, WIP exception reporting and QA invoicing reconciliation, with cross-training across Global Product Lanes and coordination with a Special Projects group for inventory reworks. The ECI Macola deployment structured procurement and inventory workflows to integrate purchasing, demand planning collaboration and logistics coordination across Vista Outdoors sites and international vendor networks.
