In 2018, Vodafone Samoa implemented InfoBPMS from Informatics to consolidate its telecom and digital TV operations and unify customer billing workflows. InfoBPMS is a Business Process Management system built on Java Technologies and a BPM engine, deployed to convert menu-driven touchpoints into workflow-driven processes across customer care and billing.
The implementation leveraged InfoBPMS modules including a top-of-the-range BPM engine, drag-and-drop dynamic screen configuration, a built-in document management system, dashboards, and SLA monitoring. Device-independent multi-touch-point interfaces and configurable workflow templates were used to rework back-office functions such as Inventory Control, Stock Management, and Point of Sales Management into workflow-governed processes.
InfoBPMS was integrated with Vodafone Samoa's existing AvaBill customer care and billing environment to bring TV operations into a single converged billing flow, enabling a single bill for customers. The deployment also included an Informatics-built mobile sales application that connected to the back-end system to perform real-time customer onboarding, capture documents and images, accept cash and card payments, and issue receipts while delivering live sales manager visibility.
Governance shifted from menu-driven procedures to unique workflow governance with clear online approvals, dashboarded reports, and SLA tracking to support operational oversight. As implemented, InfoBPMS enabled Vodafone Samoa to manage multiple business functions from a single platform, produced converged billing for telco and TV services, and reduced manual re-entry and errors in roadshow sales operations.
