In 2022, VYRD implemented Verisk Lightspeed Rating as part of its market entry to launch homeowners insurance in Florida. The deployment used Verisk’s LightSpeed for Homeowners platform to operationalize pricing and initial quoting across VYRD’s underwriting and sales workflows, with public launch activity noted on August 25, 2022.
The implementation centered on pricing, rating and risk assessment capabilities consistent with an Insurance Pricing and Rating Engine, including configurable rating logic, risk scoring and automated quote generation. VYRD configured Verisk Lightspeed Rating to prefill application data, accelerate initial quote delivery and embed reconstruction cost estimates and roof characteristic insights into underwriting decision paths.
Integrations were built explicitly with Verisk data products, ingesting location based peril information, reconstruction cost estimates, roof data, aerial imagery, building permit data, homeowner insights and loss history information to create a comprehensive property risk view. Operational coverage focused on Florida homeowners, with the system used by underwriting, quoting and agent-facing functions to address coastal property risk profiles and frequent catastrophe exposures.
Governance and process changes emphasized data driven underwriting and streamlined application intake, shifting manual entry toward prefilled digital workflows and enabling faster initial underwriting decisions. The public narrative positions Verisk Lightspeed Rating as supporting more reliable initial quotes and more complete underwriting workflows for VYRD in the challenging Florida market.
