Epicor Legacy Epicor Advanced MES (Mattec) ERP Financial ERP Financial Management n/a 2015 2016
In 2015, EcoWater Systems implemented Epicor Advanced MES (Mattec) alongside an Epicor Kinetic cloud ERP deployment categorized as ERP Financial. The deployment was executed as part of Marmon Water group initiatives, with the Epicor Kinetic environment hosted initially by Epicor Managed Services and subsequently evaluated on Microsoft Azure public cloud for real time upgrades and simplified instance management. Implementation footprints were live at three Marmon Water companies including one in Poland and two in North America, with additional sites in India and the United States in process and 12 further locations in Singapore, China, Europe, and the US planned through 2026. The Epicor Advanced MES (Mattec) implementation focused on shop floor cycle counting and manufacturing execution capabilities, while Epicor Kinetic provided core ERP Financial capabilities such as order to cash, inventory, and invoicing workflows. Configuration and system hardening were performed with Epicor Professional Services delivering the majority of training and site specific configuration, and the group adopted concurrent licensing and a phased cutover to the web version to streamline user access. The deployment emphasized five conference room pilots and a month end mock go live as part of the site acceptance process. Integrations were executed explicitly with Epicor EDI for high volume customer order flows and Epicor Quick Ship to streamline international shipping documentation, and the Epicor Advanced MES (Mattec) integration supported tighter cycle count reconciliation between shop floor and inventory ledgers. Operational coverage spanned manufacturing, shipping, quality, finance, and sales functions, with real time dashboards exposing open orders, inventory levels and turns, shipment backlog, orders not invoiced, and RMAs to support operational decision making. The team also adopted Epicor Grow BI to provide no code business intelligence directly tied to Epicor Kinetic transactional data. Governance and rollout were centralized under a single project lead, with a methodical group level approach that captured lessons learned and carried configuration knowledge forward across sites. Epicor Professional Services familiarity with Marmon Water procedures reduced retraining requirements and supported repeatable implementations, while the group standardized on cloud hosted instances to simplify upgrades and licensing administration. Outcomes reported in the implementation narrative include materially faster system responsiveness and report generation, a transition from client to web usage, and specific operational time savings such as reducing international shipping paperwork from approximately one hour to about five minutes using Epicor Quick Ship. The deployment also leveraged concurrent licensing to optimize user access across roughly 200 active Epicor Kinetic users, and a high dependence on EDI was preserved with 80 to 90 percent of EcoWater Systems revenue flowing through EDI channels.
