In 2023, WaterStep implemented Textmunication as a Marketing Automation solution to support nonprofit fundraising and CRM workflows in the United States. The deployment targeted donor facing messaging and mobile multimedia campaigns for a 15 person organization managing national supporter outreach.
Textmunication was configured to run MMS campaigns branded as Drop of Hope, using media rich messages to show program impact and solicit donations. Functional capabilities implemented included campaign templates, scheduled and triggered message flows, donor segmentation based on CRM attributes, and automation of follow up messaging tied to campaign responses.
The rollout integrated Textmunication with Blackbaud Raiser's Edge NXT to synchronize donor records, gift history, and subscription consent flags, enabling CRM driven triggers and audience selection. The Textmunication Blackbaud integration described in the vendor case study supported cross functional use by fundraising and communications teams for campaign orchestration and delivery tracking.
Governance changes centralized message approval and donor consent processes, aligning MMS production with fundraising workflows and CRM data governance. The implementation amplified supporter engagement and fundraising, using MMS to show impact and drive donations as stated in the source materials.
