In 2013, Welsch Ready Mix implemented KORE Accounting from KORE Accounting Solutions to centralize accounts payable and financial controls, using KORE Accounting as the primary ERP Financial application. The deployment established the application as the authoritative system for invoice to payment workflows at a 100 employee construction and ready mix firm in the United States.
KORE Accounting was configured to manage core accounts payable operations that included processing approximately 600 invoices per month, purchase order handling, company expense report processing, and tracking of utility contract terms and payments. The implementation emphasized invoice processing and payment execution capabilities within the ERP Financial category, and the system was used to support negotiation outcomes and cash discount capture as part of routine financial workflows.
Operational usage included daily execution of accounting tasks alongside Microsoft Word and Excel, with those tools used for documentation, spreadsheet reconciliations and data export workflows into KORE Accounting. The operational scope covered finance and procurement functions, with AP staff independently running invoice intake, approval routing and vendor payment processing through the KORE Accounting environment.
Governance and process changes were focused on new ways to pay and process invoices, which were directly tied to application configuration and AP workflow redesign. Those changes produced explicit outcomes stated by the company, including $60,000 of direct savings from altered payment and invoice processes, and the capture of cash discounts and contract reviews that prevented well over $100,000 in avoidable costs.
