LITTLE BIRD Legacy LITTLE BIRD Childcare Management System Childcare Management ERP Services and Operations n/a 2014 2014
In 2014, the City of Wolfsburg implemented the LITTLE BIRD Childcare Management System for municipal Kita registration, place allocation and operational management. The LITTLE BIRD Childcare Management System serves as the central Childcare Management platform for city-run kindergarten admission and capacity workflows across municipal early childhood services. Configured to support registration, place allocation and day-to-day management, LITTLE BIRD was implemented to structure enrollment workflows, waitlist handling and administrative case tracking. Functional capabilities deployed include intake and enrollment forms, allocation logic for place assignments and administrative dashboards that maintain placement and waiting list records. Around end of 2022 Wolfsburg expanded the deployment to adopt the KIKOM Kita-App to simplify parent communication and daily kindergarten workflows. The KIKOM Kita-App rollout extended the Childcare Management footprint to parent-facing mobile functions and explicitly covers attendance capture, messaging and multilingual parent communication as noted by the vendor. Operational governance remained with municipal childcare services, aligning LITTLE BIRD application workflows with city enrollment and attendance processes. The combined configuration places the LITTLE BIRD Childcare Management System as the authoritative back office for place allocation and administration, while KIKOM Kita-App provides front office parent engagement, attendance reporting and multilingual messaging for kindergarten staff and families.
