In 2018 Worldgate implemented Oracle Cloud ERP as its ERP Financial platform to centralize core financial processes. The engagement linked on-premise Oracle database operations with Oracle Cloud ERP and established the company platform for ERP Financial use.
The implementation included database platform configuration and operational hardening, with Oracle 11g and 12c administration preceding the installation of Oracle 19c. RMAN parameters were configured and new recovery strategies were developed, DBCA templates were created for use by the OMS and Repository environment, and quarterly Oracle CPU patching was applied and directed to maintain platform currency.
Integration work focused on data consolidation and migration, integrating disparate systems data and migrating MS SQL Server data into the Oracle environment. A CMAN proxy server was installed and configured to forward connection requests to AWS, and data migration SQL scripts and PL/SQL stored procedures were developed to integrate source data with Oracle Cloud ERP, accompanied by index rebuilds and refreshes of materialized views views and synonyms to reduce fragmentation.
Operational governance centered on a documented set of database procedures and security administration across Oracle environments, with ongoing performance tuning backup and recovery processes and monitoring of tablespace capacity and job schedulers. The Senior Oracle Database Administrator role consolidated ownership over these functions beginning in March 2021, and included NFS filesystem monitoring and troubleshooting to ensure storage availability and uptime.
