| UKG | Legacy | UKG Ready HR (ex Kronos Workforce Ready HR) | Core HR | HCM | n/a | 2023 | 2024 |
In 2023, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas deployed UKG Ready HR (ex Kronos Workforce Ready HR) to centralize Core HR functions across its 16 branches. The implementation covered recruiting, hiring, onboarding, benefits enrollment, payroll, time capture, scheduling, and reporting for a 2,400 employee workforce that expands to more than 3,000 seasonally, supporting lifeguards, camp counselors, fitness staff, and classroom employees across the Dallas metroplex.
UKG Ready HR was configured with the UKG Ready mobile app to enable clock in and clock out, time off requests, pay visibility, and a company hub for employee communications, and the platform's applicant tracking quick apply workflow was used to accelerate seasonal recruitment. Automated onboarding and digital new-hire paperwork streamlined rehiring of boomerang workers, saving approximately 30 minutes per new hire and eliminating about 300 hours annually of new-hire paperwork. Payroll processing was centralized within the UKG Ready payroll suite to shorten payroll workflows and support faster pay cycles.
The deployment incorporated UKG Wallet to provide earned wage access and financial wellness tools for part-time and seasonal workers with fluctuating hours, and reporting and analytics native to UKG Ready were used for real-time financial modeling and workforce planning. Those analytics informed strategic HR and finance decisions, including modeling minimum wage adjustments and budgeting for payroll across programs. Operational coverage explicitly included recruiting, HR operations, payroll administration, scheduling, and branch-level workforce management.
Governance and process changes emphasized automation of hiring and onboarding workflows, manager visibility into applicant pipelines, and centralized reporting to support budgeting and staffing decisions. Outcomes reported include saving more than 600 hours annually through automation of hiring, onboarding, and benefits enrollment, cutting at least 300 hours a year in new-hire paperwork, accelerating summer hiring throughput, paying hourly employees one week faster, and using UKG Ready HR insights to raise the minimum hourly wage. UKG Ready HR now serves as the Core HR system that aligns staffing, payroll, and benefits administration with the YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas mission.

In 2014, YMCA of Metropolitan Dallas implemented SGA Fund Accounting as its core fund accounting and budgeting platform. The SGA Fund Accounting deployment centralized finance and budgeting under a Non Profit ERP implementation and replaced Microsoft Dynamics for accounting and budget operations.
The implementation configured core fund accounting, budgeting and general ledger capabilities in SGA Fund Accounting to support nonprofit accounting and branch level financial consolidation. The technical team upgraded database and application servers from SQL Server 2008 to SQL Server 2012 to support the SGA Fund Accounting environment and to modernize reporting and transactional performance. Reporting capabilities were developed to produce branch compliance reports for Y-USA and Y-Seer.
The deployment touched operational systems across 22 branch locations and the central finance team, with the CRM application that supports those branches managed concurrently by YMCA IT staff. Integrations explicitly managed during the program included connecting the background checking application with the Kronos HR hiring management system, and migrating accounting and budgeting data from Microsoft Dynamics into SGA Fund Accounting. The IT lead also automated procedures to drive members to the online business application for program and membership purchases, aligning intake with finance posting processes.
Governance and rollout were run through IT system administration and database development leadership at the YMCA, with incident tracking and reduction as a stated operational objective. The project successfully delivered the SGA Fund Accounting implementation and the related server and CRM upgrades, and technical leadership delivered compliance reporting for Y-USA and Y-Seer. Ongoing support and maintenance responsibilities remained with YMCA IT staff, who maintained the CRM and supported branch operations.
