In 2025, Zeekr Technology Europe implemented Minima Blockchain as a Blockchain Platform to pilot a tokenized, on-demand charging solution for its European Zeekr community. The implementation integrates Minima Blockchain into Zeekr wallboxes and exposes Zeekr smart contract IP as a smartphone app, creating a direct relationship between Zeekr Technology Europe, Minima Blockchain, Blockchain Platform and vehicle charging access control and monetization functions.
The deployment centers on smart contract modules hosted as a mobile application, a booking and token issuance engine, and an access control token capability that encodes user identity, access rights, and allocated kWh. Minima Blockchain is used to generate secure access control tokens for each reservation, these tokens function as unique digital keys to unlock wallboxes, and the solution supports marketplace-style booking workflows that allow private wallbox owners to list availability and monetize usage.
Architecturally the solution embeds Minima’s lightweight node capability into the wallbox access layer, enabling device-level validation and token verification at the edge. The implementation includes offline transaction handling and local connectivity options such as Bluetooth so token verification and charging initiation can proceed during connectivity outages. Minima’s embedded chain approach is therefore leveraged to provide node-to-node messaging, on-device token generation, and quantum-resistant cryptographic assurances for bookings and access control.
Rollout is structured as a pilot targeting residential and commercial private wallboxes within the Zeekr community, with operational coverage focused on booking orchestration, charging access management, and owner monetization workflows. Governance and process changes include smart contract IP deployment, token lifecycle management, and community-driven listing and reservation policies. The stated aims are to expand reliable charging availability, provide secure and convenient access for Zeekr drivers, and leverage under-utilized private wallboxes to increase network capacity without sole reliance on public charging infrastructure investment.
