ZENDEN implemented Oracle Retail Assortment Planning and Oracle Retail Demand Forecasting, together with Veltio’s Product Forecasting running on the Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server platform. Configuration emphasized automated demand-driven assortment workflows, embedded machine learning forecasting models, and support for top-down and bottom-up planning to replace highly manual spreadsheet processes.
The implementation centralized planning in a single user interface and common environment for all planning participants, standardizing roughly 90 percent of the planning process in one central system. Operational coverage included the planning department and store replenishment workflows, moving responsibility for shipments and assortment placement from manual spreadsheets to an orchestrated planning layer that interfaces with store operations and inventory assignment processes.
Governance changes focused on standardizing best practices and automating routine planning tasks to free planning teams for strategic work, while the new forecasting tool enabled improved assortment availability at store level. Explicit outcomes reported by ZENDEN include higher inventory productivity, better assortment availability, a reduction in clearance volumes over time and an ability to increase overall margin, with the solution providing a unified planning and optimization backbone within the Retail Management application set.

The program replaced highly manual spreadsheet based workflows with a single user interface and automation of planning best practices, enabling the planning team to standardize about 90 percent of the planning process in one central system.
Veltio provided implementation services on the project, delivering integration and implementation work on the Oracle Retail Predictive Application Server platform. Operational coverage included the planning department and downstream supply chain orchestration for in store assortment placement and shipments to the retail estate. The deployment created a common environment for all participants in the planning process and a single view of assortment across merchandising and supply chain functions.
