Oracle Microsoft Dynamics GP Oracle Cloud ERP ERP Financial ERP n/a 2016 2016
In 2016, Zipcar implemented Oracle Cloud ERP, migrating from Microsoft Dynamics GP. The deployment targeted core finance and accounting functions and was led by the VP Financial Systems and Process Improvement reporting to the Chief Accounting Officer, who oversaw a team of seven and acted as the primary business lead for the program. The Oracle Cloud ERP implementation focused on ERP Financial functionality with emphasis on record to report workflows and enterprise performance management. The program included procurement and implementation of a record to report platform, evaluation of the EPM stack for migration to Essbase, and configuration of financial reporting and close orchestration capabilities consistent with an ERP Financial implementation. Operational integration centered on the finance technology stack, aligning Oracle Cloud ERP with Essbase and HFM driven reporting processes and with Oracle on Demand for EPM when the cloud migration occurred. Ongoing financial systems operations were managed day to day by the finance systems team, maintaining priorities across Oracle, Essbase, and HFM for consolidation and statutory reporting. Governance activities included developing project statements of work, obtaining approval for expenditures through AFEs, engaging and managing consultants for delivery, and directing SOX compliance reviews for financial systems. The business lead also drove process transformation workstreams including a Zero Based Budgeting effort that resulted in 30 million in savings, while retaining responsibility for financial system strategy, upgrades, and implementation oversight.
