In 2013, Zwilling implemented Serrala FinanceSuite for AP Automation. The Serrala FinanceSuite deployment targeted Zwilling’s corporate finance organization, establishing an automated accounts payable platform for the Germany-based manufacturer.
The implementation focused on core AP Automation capabilities including invoice capture with optical character recognition, invoice validation and three-way matching, workflow-based approval routing, exception handling and electronic archiving. Serrala FinanceSuite was configured to manage supplier master data and to orchestrate the end-to-end invoice to payment lifecycle within accounts payable.
Technical integration work connected the AP Automation layer to Zwilling’s financial ecosystem through ERP and banking connectivity interfaces, enabling automated posting to the general ledger and the generation of payment files. Operational coverage included accounts payable, treasury touchpoints and procurement handoffs to support invoice intake, approval and payment execution.
Governance and process changes accompanied the rollout, with standardized approval authorities, workflow-enforced segregation of duties and an auditable invoice and payment trail enforced by the system. Rollout activities were organized around finance process owners and AP staff training to embed electronic invoice processing and controls into day-to-day operations.
