Standard Bank | Banking and Financial Services | 50316 | $10.5B | South Africa | OpenText | OpenText Employee File Management | Document Management | 2016 | n/a | In 2016 Standard Bank upgraded OpenText Employee File Management as a technical infrastructure refresh supporting employee records. The OpenText Employee File Management deployment targeted Document Management capabilities for HR and employee file lifecycles across the bank's South Africa operations. The technical program addressed core document repository configuration, metadata schema rationalization, secure access control and records classification modules typical of Document Management implementations. Workstreams included optimization of capture and imaging throughput, indexing and full text search configuration, and centralized audit logging to manage employee file lifecycles. Infrastructure changes focused on separating application and storage tiers, scaling repository servers, storage tiering and database connectivity optimization to improve capacity and resilience. The upgrade also implemented high availability configurations, backup and retention processes and alignment with authentication and access control frameworks managed by IT. Operationally the project preserved HR records governance while shifting technical ownership to the bank's IT infrastructure teams, with application administration and records management policies enforced at the system level. Execution followed a phased technical cutover and validation approach emphasizing audit trails and access control testing to minimize disruption to HR workflows. | |
