Extremadura | Government | 16000 | $8.6B | Spain | Hyland | Hyland Alfresco ECM | Enterprise Content Management | 2011 | n/a | In 2011 Extremadura implemented Hyland Alfresco ECM for Enterprise Content Management as a core platform to consolidate corporate content across its public administration systems. The deployment was contracted as a multi-year corporate support engagement, with integration partner Mecatena SL managing the second year of the global Alfresco corporate support contract and serving as an Alfresco competence center for the Junta de Extremadura. The Hyland Alfresco ECM implementation focused on unified content repository services and document lifecycle capabilities common to Enterprise Content Management solutions, including document management, records governance, search and access controls to support intranet and extranet use. Configuration emphasized standards compliance, the application s support for CMIS and JCR, and interoperability with a wide range of middleware stacks to maintain compatibility with databases, operating systems, office suites, browsers and file access protocols. Integrations were implemented to embed the content platform into internal electronic administration systems and public-facing extranet services in order to meet requirements of the Law on Electronic Access to Public Services for Citizens. The design included authentication and accessibility alignments to ensure secure, role-based content access for both internal users of intranet applications and external users of public services. Governance for the project was operationalized through the corporate support contract and the designation of Mecatena SL as the regional integration partner, enabling ongoing support and local competency. The Regional Government of Extremadura cited unified management of associated content, adherence to open source quality and standards compliance as primary outcomes driving the selection and continued use of Hyland Alfresco ECM for its Enterprise Content Management needs. | |
