In 2021, Mammut Switzerland implemented Peoplefone Microsoft Teams in the PBX, VoiP and Phone Systems category. The project migrated the company from Skype for Business to Microsoft Teams and integrated Peoplefone Microsoft Teams as the telephony complement to Teams, establishing external voice connectivity for the collaboration platform.
The deployment used Peoplefone managed session border controllers and SIP trunking to surface external telephony into the Microsoft Teams environment, enabling enterprise call routing and carrier grade voice termination. Configuration activities included number provisioning, direct inward dial mapping and centralized dial plan management to align Teams user identities with assigned PSTN numbers.
Operational scope targeted Mammut’s IT and communications environment in Switzerland, covering internal and external voice communications for corporate departments across the organization. Implementation partners named in the project were Axians and install partner fernao somnitec AG, who executed the big bang migration cutover and integration tasks.
Governance favored a single cutover rollout to unify internal collaboration and external calling, positioning Peoplefone Microsoft Teams as the canonical telephony path for Teams users.
