In 2020, Foscarini implemented Boomi AtomSphere, an API Management,iPaaS (Integration Platform as a Service) platform, to redefine its integration strategy and guarantee business continuity across its application ecosystem. The initiative addressed a heterogeneous landscape that included IBM AS/400 systems, customer and supplier portals, forwarding agents, identity providers, and a priority shift between Salesforce CRM and Magento ecommerce, while preserving operations and enabling a certified data warehouse for analytics.
The deployment leveraged core components of the Boomi AtomSphere suite, including Boomi Integration for connector-led orchestration, Boomi Flow for low-code workflow and application automation, Boomi API Management to govern Web APIs, and Boomi B2B EDI Management for trading partner exchanges. Foscarini used the platforms graphical UI, drag-and-drop components, and AI-assisted configuration to build modular integration flows and codeless applications aligned to progressive business objectives.
Architecturally the solution combined the cloud-native Boomi AtomSphere control plane with a Boomi Atom runtime installed in Foscarinis data center to execute processes on-premises. Initial integrations connected Business Central ERP, Magento B2B ecommerce, Salesforce CRM, a data warehouse, customer portals, and an Azure B2C identity provider, plus EDI links to trading partners and shippers. The first release delivered seven Boomi connectors, API management, and EDI connections with 10 trading partners to establish a single source of truth for cross-application data flows.
beanTech acted as the implementation partner and defined the solution architecture, integration flows, release plan, and training regimen, conducting development and testing to hand over operational control to Foscarinis IT department. Licensing and operational considerations emphasized Boomis pay-per-use model and available online training, enabling rapid upskilling of internal staff and a phased, goal-driven rollout without interrupting business operations.
As a result of the Boomi AtomSphere implementation, Foscarinis IT team was able to get up to speed quickly and is saving significant time on systems maintenance, with a reliable, scalable integration foundation in place to support future scenarios and planned extensions such as product lifecycle management logic.
