In 2016 Henkel deployed Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security as an Endpoint Detection and Response (EDR) solution to extend GDPR-aligned compliance and mobile threat protection across corporate Android and iOS devices. The Digital Workplace Mobility team led the rollout with implementation services from EBF and a focus on enterprise-grade mobile posture management.
The implementation configured Lookout Mobile Endpoint Security to provide device-level threat detection, app and OS hygiene monitoring, and privacy-preserving telemetry collection on both Android and iOS endpoints. Policy configuration emphasized conditional access controls, for example Android devices were required to have Lookout active to access corporate data, and device posture signals were mapped to access rules.
Integrations included MobileIron for mobile device management and IBM QRadar for security information and event management, enabling Lookout telemetry to be forwarded into centralized SIEM workflows. The architecture captured agent telemetry at the device, normalized events for QRadar ingestion, and relied on MobileIron to distribute posture policies and enforce access decisions.
Operational scope covered Henkel corporate mobile endpoints managed by the Digital Workplace Mobility organization, aligning mobile access controls with GDPR requirements while preserving employee privacy through selective telemetry. As a result Henkel reduced mobile risk while preserving employee privacy.
