Hillarys Blinds | Manufacturing | 1500 | $390M | United Kingdom | SAP | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | 2017 |
In 2017 Hillarys Blinds implemented SAP S/4 HANA as an on-premise ERP Financial deployment. The project replaced three long-standing enterprise solutions including SAP ERP ECC 6.0 during the companys busiest retail period, and the deployment strategy was shaped by a concentrated user base at the Nottingham site and the need to avoid prolonged system freezes.
Implementation sequence and technical approach centered on freezing the SAP ERP ECC 6.0 environment after the last postal date before Christmas to migrate data for SAP Business Warehouse, with ERP and CRM cutovers following in January and February. The team executed the on-premise migration using SAP implementation tools and the Database Migration Option, and engaged Panaya as the implementation optimization tool to identify high priority testing areas and streamline test cycles.
Functional modules implemented included SAP Business Warehouse, core SAP S/4 HANA ERP financial and operational modules, and CRM capabilities that together supported order processing, finance and accounting workflows during peak season. Hillarys Blinds SAP S/4 HANA ERP Financial directly supported finance and accounting functions, and the on-premise architecture kept processing close to the Nottingham user base, reflecting the companys limited requirement for mobile centric access.
Governance and rollout emphasized minimizing downtime, using Panaya driven risk based testing to prioritize scenarios, and leveraging SAPs DMO tooling to reduce the cutover window. One year after go live the Head of ICT reported that accounting reports which previously took 20 minutes now run in one minute, and the program credited targeted testing and migration sequencing with enabling a fast and stable production environment.

JCDecaux UK | Manufacturing | 485 | $426M | United Kingdom | SAP | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | 2023 |
In 2023 JCDecaux UK implemented SAP S/4 HANA as part of a global ERP Financial harmonization program designed to consolidate financial, logistics, sales billing and operations processes across more than 40 countries. The initiative replaced named legacy ERP instances including Sage 1000 and targeted a unified SAP S/4 HANA core to reduce fragmentation and enable consistent back office processes across global business units.
The deployment of SAP S/4 HANA encompassed standard financial and logistics configuration workstreams, sales billing orchestration, and operations process alignment, with Panaya engaged as the testing and validation SI/VAR. Panaya was integrated into test campaign management for SAP S/4 HANA, providing a reusable test library, template-driven recordings, automated test documentation and real-time dashboards to support UAT and functional testing across multiple parallel projects.
Integrations and operational coverage included Panaya workflows tied into JCDecaux IT management tooling, explicitly including JIRA for defect tracking, while business users carried out UAT scenarios and collaborated with IT through Panaya’s interfaces. The program supported eight large SAP projects, engaged more than 250 JCDecaux employees in testing, produced about 4,000 test recordings, created over 10,000 test templates, and executed approximately 3,000 SAP upgrade tests with many tests reusing a large repository of templates.
Governance and rollout practices standardized documentation, enabled automated reporting and real-time comprehensive test monitoring, and introduced traceability for scenarios and evidence to accelerate follow-up on defect corrections. JCDecaux reported faster test rollouts, reproducible test templates, 100% automation of test documentation and improved quality support for the SAP S/4 HANA cutover process, with Panaya providing ongoing support and knowledge base resources for the unified ERP Financial implementation.
