Masonite UK | Manufacturing | 1000 | $220M | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | 2021 |
In 2021, Masonite UK initiated deployment of Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as part of a broader ERP Financial transformation, engaging SIS Global as the implementation partner and running consulting support between May 2021 and May 2023. The engagement entered an Initiate Phase with on site requirement work, then progressed through Define and into Build, with consultant responsibilities shifting toward production planning and manufacturing configuration as the project team scaled.
The implementation sits inside a multi year, multi national, multi company, multi site program spanning Canada, the United States, Chile, Mexico, the United Kingdom and Ireland and roughly 55 sites, with a conceptual goal of a single global Dynamics solution using a common platform, common code base and centralized system governance deployed across multiple Dynamics 365 instances. Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations is being positioned as the core ERP Financial application for procurement, planning and production capabilities, with product configuration tightly coupled to INFOR in the overall application architecture.
Project level activities included facilitated workshops and fit gap analysis in Procurement, Planning and Production, capturing requirements into Azure DevOps and prioritizing gaps with MoSCoW ratings. Workstreams moved from CRP1 addressing core functionality and known gaps to CRP2 surfacing first customizations, then into configuration of the Gold build environment for production. The build focused on production planning, scheduling and sequencing, manufacturing execution and Production Floor Execution customizations, with specification and testing tracked through Azure DevOps.
Operational governance was structured as a multi track, multi workstream program with centralized governance for platform and code base consistency, and local UK scope addressing four Masonite UK sites. The project also included capability building, recruiting and onboarding a Junior Business Analyst into KTJN Limited on a Level 4 IS BA apprenticeship, and commencing formal training on Microsoft Dynamics solutions to support ongoing operational ownership.

Morrells Woodfinishes | Manufacturing | 165 | $36M | United Kingdom | Microsoft | Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations | ERP Financial | 2019 |
In 2019, Morrells Woodfinishes implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as its ERP Financial platform, beginning a project run between March 2019 and April 2020 supported by SIS Global acting as a subcontractor to Alithya and with an RPM International Inc Trade and Logistics Consultant involved in the program. The initial scope targeted rapid transition of Finance and Procurement for five UK legal entities onto Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations, using the Lifecycle Services business process modelling framework to map processes and produce Task Guides for key users.
The implementation configured core finance and procurement capabilities within D365FO, and preparatory work was completed to address Sales, Production in a process manufacturing context, and Warehousing in subsequent phases. Configuration work included business process workshops, task based documentation, training of key users, and data migration planning, with data migration activities and interface specifications defined and tested as part of phase planning.
Integration work explicitly included interfacing financial journals from Oracle and product receipts from Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations using Azure LogicApps, and the migration path replaced an OpenAccounts frontend that had been interfaced with Oracle for financial posting. Operational coverage was planned to extend beyond the five legal entities to more than 25 UK trade counters and to distributor networks in South Africa and Ireland, validated in a two week conference room pilot prior to wider rollout.
Project governance established a core implementation team, sequenced phase deliveries, and initiated phase two planning to complete transition from Oracle with workshops and data migration execution. Phase one went live successfully after 17 weeks, and further rollout activities were paused when wider RPM group implementations were mothballed due to the Covid 19 outbreak.
