In 2021, CHEC Grupo EPM implemented IBM Maximo as its Enterprise Asset Management platform. CHEC Grupo EPM is Central Hidroeléctrica de Caldas SA based in Manizales, Colombia, and is part of the EPM Group, operating across Generation, Distribution and Marketing serving 40 municipalities in Caldas and Risaralda. The IBM Maximo deployment targeted consolidation of operating asset management across those three business lines.
The implementation by Solex configured IBM Maximo to support core Enterprise Asset Management capabilities, including a centralized asset registry, work order management, preventive maintenance scheduling, inspection and condition workflows, and inventory and spare parts control. Configuration emphasized support for field maintenance and work execution tracking, aligning IBM Maximo as the system of record for equipment lifecycle and maintenance planning. These modules were aligned to standard EAM functional terminology to support operations and maintenance teams.
Governance and rollout centered on standardizing asset management processes across CHEC Grupo EPM operating units, with role based access and process controls for operations, maintenance, and planning stakeholders. Solex led data consolidation, configuration, and user onboarding across generation, distribution and marketing functions to operationalize IBM Maximo across CHEC sites. The implementation is described as part of CHEC Grupo EPM ongoing efforts to strengthen management of its operating assets within the EPM Group.
