In 2013, Honeywell implemented UKG Workforce Central Absence Manager (ex Kronos Workforce Absence Manager) to strengthen its Absence and Leave Management capabilities across manufacturing operations. The initiative was positioned to support HR and payroll business functions, consolidating absence workflows and time and attendance controls under a centralized absence management application.
The implementation included configuration and deployment of Kronos Workforce Central time and attendance modules, pay rules, interfaces, and clock hardware, and it incorporated the Attestation module and custom SmartViews as part of system upgrades to Kronos v6.3. The project scope covered configuration, testing, and rollout of pay rule logic and timekeeping automation, and it included installation of InTouch clocks and voice-directed productivity tools such as Vocollect at site level.
Integrations and operational coverage tied the absence system into corporate payroll and HR processes, with explicit coordination with the PeopleSoft group and payroll teams during interfaces work. Deployments and standardization efforts extended to 35 Honeywell Specialty Materials US sites and included international deployments in Malaysia, with vendor teams in China and payroll support in India, reflecting multi-country and multi-language operational support.
Governance and process restructuring were led through close collaboration with Legal, Payroll, HR, Finance, Procurement, and application support groups, using legal input to define requirements and wage and hour constraints. The program standardized pay practices and a new Honeywell Time Recording and Pay Practices policy, centralized PTO policy changes across all US sites, and renegotiated the Kronos maintenance contract with Procurement to simplify verification and reduce contract errors.

In 2015 Honeywell implemented Salesforce Field Service (ex ClickSoftware) to support a global Field Service Management program focused on service, repairs and Returns Material Authorization workflows. The scope included a high volume Service and RMA portal accessible through Salesforce Customer Community Cloud, and the deployment was framed by a Global template and common processes for Honeywell’s service and repairs business.
The implementation combined Salesforce Service Cloud, Customer Community Cloud and Salesforce Field Service Lightning as core functional modules. Workstreams led by the solution architect covered business workshops, customer journey and process mapping, wireframe review for the Customer Community portal, entitlement determination based on serialized device, Case and RMA creation workflows, RMA status update flows, and user registration and approval processes.
Architecturally the project used a web service integration layer to orchestrate entitlement checks and transactional flows between Salesforce Service Cloud, Customer Community, SAP CRM and SAP ECC ERP. Specific integrations included Web Service design for entitlement determination based on serialized devices, a Web Service for Case and RMA creation in Salesforce Service Cloud and SAP CRM, a Web Service for RMA status update, and Salesforce FSL integration with SAP ECC ERP to enable field service execution.
Governance and rollout emphasized a Global template and common operational processes, with a staged global rollout of the Customer Community portal across multiple Honeywell entities. The Customer Community Cloud delivered strong adoption among Honeywell customers, producing roughly half a million RMA creations in the last fiscal year, and the engagement included solution architecture, integration and implementation leadership to align Service Cloud, Customer Community Cloud and Field Service capabilities.
