In 2010, AB SEB bankas implemented Oracle Flexcube as its Core Banking platform to centralize core account and cards processing services. The program extended beyond core ledger functions to cover Cards acquiring, ATM operations, and Issuing and Processing capabilities, with a focused IT delivery for card lifecycle management.
Three Baltic IT teams based in Vilnius, Riga and Tallinn, totaling up to 30 people, led software development, maintenance and production support for Oracle Flexcube and adjacent cards components. Workstreams included test environment preparation and maintenance, development and testing cycles, deployments, and system administrators agenda management, with explicit ownership for end to end delivery of the IT Cards scope.
Implementation required coordination of third party deliveries for card processing and ATM integrations, with teams agreeing and validating external vendor outputs as part of releases. Teams managed cooperation with Cards business representatives, stakeholders, vendors and other IT teams to align integration points and operational handoffs across acquiring, issuing and ATM processing functions.
Governance and process transformation emphasized Agile and Kanban methodologies and an evolution toward DevOps practices to accelerate deployments and operational responsiveness. Team-level governance included capacity planning, professional performance reviews, coaching and role adjustments to match the banks prioritized business task list, and the IT organization also coordinated the sunset activities of the Core system Flexcube as part of lifecycle management.
