| Intermedia | Legacy | Intermedia Hosted Exchange | Collaboration | Collaboration | n/a | 2014 | 2014 | In 2014, ABC Stores implemented Intermedia Hosted Exchange, completing an urgent migration of 400 accounts from iNotes to Intermedia Hosted Exchange without downtime. This Collaboration email rollout in the United States restored full email continuity and improved uptime for corporate and store messaging. The project was executed to maintain operational messaging across the retail footprint while minimizing user disruption. Intermedia Hosted Exchange was configured to deliver hosted mailbox services, calendaring, and centralized address book functionality along with an administrative control panel to enable IT mailbox provisioning and configuration. Configuration tasks included mailbox provisioning workflows, DNS and mail routing updates, and the establishment of administrative roles to give IT self service control over mailbox settings and policies. The deployment leveraged standard Collaboration capabilities for email continuity and centralized policy control. The implementation scope covered approximately 400 user accounts across the United States and directly impacted IT and store operations by shifting mailbox administration into the Intermedia control plane. Governance centered on IT operations adopting the Intermedia Hosted Exchange administrative model to consolidate mailbox management and streamline ongoing configuration changes. The case emphasized uninterrupted service continuity and operational control rather than changes to other systems. |
