In 2014 Abell Pest Control implemented Intuit QuickBooks Desktop as its core ERP Financial application to centralize bookkeeping and invoicing across its Canadian operations. The deployment supported back office finance and sales administration for inbound sales and marketing, office administration, and afterhours branch reporting for B.C, Montreal, Calgary and Regina.
Intuit QuickBooks Desktop was used primarily for bookkeeping, preparing invoices and sales records, and processing refunds and web sales. The application supported routine financial tasks referenced in operational job functions, including account updates and bookkeeping on accounts that fed executive planning and ordering workflows.
Operationally the QuickBooks Desktop environment was used alongside CRM tools and common office productivity software, with staff updating spreadsheets and online programs. The implementation included documented data exchange and manual reconciliation with Excel, Outlook, Word, PowerPoint and the Appointy scheduling tool to support invoicing, appointment-driven sales capture and dispatch administration.
Governance and process changes emphasized operational alignment between customer service, dispatch and finance teams, with staff performing bilingual customer service for high call volumes and attending ongoing training on new products. Intuit QuickBooks Desktop functioned as the ERP Financial ledger and invoicing hub, supporting bookkeeping workflow consolidation while daily dispatch and route scheduling remained operationally coordinated by office administration and marketing staff.

Operational coverage extended across HR and learning teams, with responsibilities including employee profile maintenance, transcript stewardship and course enrollment and completion workflows. UKG Pro Learning served as the authoritative system for Learning and Development and for internal training recordkeeping.
Governance activities emphasized centralized user access controls and ongoing content maintenance, with designated ownership for learner record accuracy and LMS administration. The implementation preserved continuous maintenance of employee profiles and transcripts while enabling course development and delivery through Lectora Inspire.
