In 2015, Ability Matters Group deployed IRIS Staffology HR (ex Octopus HR) to provide Core HR capabilities across its UK operations. The implementation centralized personnel records and HR workflows for a 700 employee distribution business, with primary administration and ownership by the central HR team.
Configuration work emphasized personnel lifecycle and compliance modules, including drafting contracts and offer letters, applying contract amendments, calculating annual leave entitlement, and onboarding orchestration to ensure smooth transitions for new starters. The HR Coordinator maintained IRIS Staffology HR configuration, used system-driven document generation and mail merge for salary review letters, recorded and tracked DBS checks, and captured case notes to support TUPE one to one consultations and disciplinary proceedings.
Operational coverage extended to HR, senior managers, clinical and technical staff, and local site support in Abingdon where HR coordination was based. Governance relied on HR-led administration of the Core HR system, routine configuration updates by the HR Coordinator, and using IRIS Staffology HR as the single source of personnel documentation, query handling, and hire-to-onboard process management.
