The implementation focused on functional capabilities for deposit reporting and cash receipt controls, journal entry generation as backup for cash receipt postings, and billing adjustment workflows. The deployment also formalized lease abstraction and amendment entry processes, enabling staff to enter and abstract new commercial leases and amendments into the MRI Accounting system and to record security deposit charges for new commercial leases.
Operational processes implemented include review of aged delinquencies to apply tenant credits where applicable, invoicing tenants for outstanding ledger balances, and posting security deposit receivables to the appropriate general ledger account within MRI CRE Lease Accounting. The system organized tenant ledgers, receivables, and invoice generation to support accounts receivable and cash management functions across the accounting and leasing teams.
Governance and controls were configured to require approval by executive management or property ownership for billing adjustments, and report compilation was established to provide documentation for cash receipt postings. Standardized workflows for lease abstraction, billing adjustments, delinquency review, and security deposit accounting were embedded in the Lease Management configuration to align operational practice with accounting controls.
