In 2017 Aditya Birla Health Insurance implemented SAP ERP ECC 6.0 to centralize ERP Financial processes, commencing a project that has been in support and evolution from April 2017 till now. The engagement was executed with a FICO Functional Consultant role driving configuration and ongoing support for financial accounting and controlling workflows within the insurer.
The implementation concentrated on core FICO capabilities, including GST implementation and mapping, TDS configuration with new TDS codes, document splitting logic, and the creation of vendor group structures. Asset accounting changes were implemented via new asset class settings, and functional specifications were prepared for each package of configuration work to formalize requirements and controls.
Operational integration focused on electronic bank reconciliation using bank statement processing in MT940 format to align treasury and cash operations with SAP ERP ECC 6.0. The deployment impacted finance, tax, treasury, accounts payable, and asset accounting functions, with configuration and process work scoped to those business functions.
Governance and controls were enforced through validation and substitution rules configured in the system, plus formal functional specifications to drive transport requests and change control. The FICO Functional Consultant role covered specification preparation, configuration, and rule implementation to support finance process governance.
Support has been continuous since April 2017, with SAP ERP ECC 6.0 remaining the primary ERP Financial system for Aditya Birla Health Insurance. Ongoing work has focused on support, configuration adjustments, and compliance related to tax and bank statement processing.

Functional capabilities configured included an Annual Compensation Plan processing flow covering salary increments and variable pay disbursements, compensation benchmarking and survey management to align positioning with the insurance market, and structured handling of promotional, demotional and correction cases such as Sales Progression and ADC salary annexures.
Operational processes integrated into the HRIS scope included payroll data validation and MIS reporting to serve internal HRM and employee queries, a compensation and PMS helpdesk for BSLI, and training programs to enable managers and employees on the performance management system. The program was explicitly designed to drive goal setting and employee and manager evaluations for the management cadre, while maintaining continuous monitoring and benchmarking of C and B policies.
Governance and ownership emphasized liaison with Business Managers and regional HR business partners to ensure adherence to ABG guidelines and the corporate C and B framework. Ongoing operational controls included periodic audits to surface incomplete or mismatched master data and payroll inputs and end to end HRIS administration in Oracle PeopleSoft HCM for employee lifecycle management.
