In 2011, AECI implemented FIS Treasury and Risk Manager - Quantum Edition to support Treasury Management for its corporate treasury and dealing room. The deployment targeted AECI Limited treasury operations and group cash flow oversight across its South African operating companies.
Configuration emphasized centralized deal capture and confirmation workflows, using FIS Treasury and Risk Manager - Quantum Edition for deal entry and affirmation. Functional capabilities implemented included forex contract management, dealing room rate requests and bid offer handling, deal affirmation on ConCord, and document management for deal related paperwork.
Integrations were operationalized with bank channels and confirmation systems as part of settlement workflows. The implementation included affirmation on ConCord and initiation of settlement payments to beneficiaries via Standard Bank CATS / ICM, alongside processes for reviewing bank confirmations of forex deals and dispatching forex letters and contracts to banks before cut off dates.
Operational governance was codified around cut off controls and pre confirmation processes, requiring pre confirmation of settlement amounts, currencies and SSIs at least two days prior to value date. The system supported maintenance of authorized persons and operating company contact data, adherence to balance of payments requirements, and centralized monitoring of Group CFC account balances.
Day to day treasury activities were executed through the Quantum treasury system, including deal capture, interbank borrowing and lending driven by group cash flow needs, initiation and control of non import payments, and routine monitoring of interest and exchange rate movements. FIS Treasury and Risk Manager - Quantum Edition served as the core Treasury Management platform for standardized dealing room workflows and treasury operations governance.
