In 2010, Agrii implemented Microsoft Dynamics AX as an ERP Financial platform to centralize finance for a £500m turnover business with more than 500 users. The program included a full ERP implementation and a subsequent integration of a newly acquired business unit into the same Microsoft Dynamics AX environment.
The implementation delivered comprehensive finance configurations, including Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger and General Ledger setups, and ownership of the Chart of Accounts framework for Origin Group. BI solutions and finance reporting were delivered alongside transactional finance modules, and modifications were managed to meet operational requirements while super user training schedules were executed.
Finance data migration was completed from various legacy systems, including targeted remediation work to fix significant migration issues that risked go-live, with the go-live rescue carried out by the project team. The Microsoft Dynamics AX deployment also incorporated the acquired entity into the central finance structure and supported BI integration for consolidated reporting.
Project governance included regular steering meetings with Agrii senior management to report progress, issues and risks, and the project team combined finance role responsibilities with project delivery for an interim period. The Dynamics AX implementation was delivered on time and within budget, and the finance and BI delivery for Microsoft Dynamics AX was recognized with the national Excellence in ICT award in 2012 from Manufacturer magazine.
