In 2006 AHF Pharmacies implemented Epicor Eagle as its core Retail Management application to centralize accounts receivable workflows across its U.S. pharmacy network. Epicor Eagle is used to process A/R Received On Account for more than 46 AHF Pharmacies sites and to support store billing and payment posting activities within the organization.
The implementation centers on accounts receivable and billing configuration within Epicor Eagle, including daily payment posting, credit card charge entry for patient accounts, automated statement generation for store sites, and rules for write offs on co pays aged beyond 120 days. Workflows documented in the environment include electronic claim resubmission, preparation of correction hard copy 1500 forms, coded billing and scanned documentation, and export of payment posting extracts to shared drives in spreadsheet and PDF formats for reporting and review.
Epicor Eagle operates alongside named upstream and downstream systems, with explicit integrations to secondary billing partners Health Research and McKesson for coupon and co pay recovery, and operational interoperability with a Cerner Pharmacy System used for point of sale, patient A/R, and distribution. Operational coverage spans patient accounts receivable and collections teams, with billing statements prepared for 32 store sites and reconciliation performed to third party payer remittances on a monthly cadence.
Governance and process changes implemented include standardized claim follow up and collections call procedures to insurance companies, monthly reconciliation filing for each insurer, and a centralized scanning and coding process to support corrections and resubmissions. The deployment has an outcomes signal recorded by the accounts receivable team, specifically documented recovery of more than 80,000 dollars in patient co pays and coupon card value through secondary billing workflows with Health Research and McKesson.
