In 2020 the Art Institute of Chicago implemented Oracle Peoplesoft Benefits Administration to centralize employee benefits processing within its PeopleSoft HRIS. The deployment was positioned under the Office of HRIS and Records and targeted HR, Records, and Worker’s Compensation staff supporting the institution's approximately 1,600 employees.
Oracle Peoplesoft Benefits Administration was configured to deliver core Benefits Administration capabilities, including enrollment management, eligibility rules, open enrollment workflows, benefit life-event processing, and benefits data reporting. The release included PeopleSoft self-service functionality delivered as eBenefits for employee enrollment and eRecruit for recruiting workflows, enabling employee-facing transactions and HR case intake.
Operational governance was centralized with the Director of HRIS & Records, who managed development, implementation, maintenance and ongoing updates to the PeopleSoft environment. The implementation was executed as an upgrade to a current PeopleSoft release and remained PeopleSoft-centric, aligning benefits workflows with worker’s compensation processes and maintaining employee data consistency across HR modules, with staged rollout and ongoing configuration managed by the HRIS team.
