| SAP | SAP ERP ECC 6.0 | SAP S/4 HANA | ERP Financial | ERP | n/a | 2019 | 2019 |
In 2019, Air Busan proposed replacing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 with SAP S/4 HANA as its core ERP Financial platform. The initiative targeted SAP S/4 HANA 1809 and was accompanied by pre-sales technical advisory from Samsung SDS in April 2019, including SAP Basis expert and SAP Technical Architect input to shape the technical architecture and migration approach.
The implementation narrative centers on standard ERP Financial capabilities, with configuration focus expected on general ledger, accounts payable, accounts receivable, asset accounting, controlling, bank accounting, and period-end financial close processes. SAP S/4 HANA was positioned to consolidate transactional and financial reporting through S/4 HANA native data models, aligning chart of accounts and master data to reduce reconciliation friction across airline financial operations.
Migration and integration activities were framed around converting the existing SAP ERP ECC 6.0 footprints and interfaces to S/4 HANA compatible artifacts, while preserving core transactional continuity for finance and accounting teams. Operational scope covered Air Busan finance departments in South Korea and involved technical architecture planning and SAP Basis readiness, guided by Samsung SDS pre-sales support and technical architecture recommendations.
Governance and process workstreams emphasized finance process harmonization, master data rationalization, and technical cutover planning to support the SAP S/4 HANA implementation. SAP S/4 HANA was documented as the central ERP Financial application for Air Busan, with implementation planning anchored on the SAP S/4 HANA 1809 release and supported by SAP Basis advisory in the pre-sales phase.

| Travelport | Legacy | Travelport Abacus GDS | Reservation and Booking Management | ERP Services and Operations | n/a | 2012 | 2012 |
In 2012, Air Busan implemented Travelport Abacus GDS for Reservation and Booking Management. The implementation followed an exclusive commercial agreement with Abacus during a period of rapid low cost carrier expansion across the Asia Pacific region.
Travelport Abacus GDS was configured to handle core global distribution functions including fare shopping, inventory and booking management, passenger name record creation and ticketing workflows adapted for low cost carrier and hybrid fare structures. Configuration prioritized agency merchandising and distribution controls to support multi-channel bookings across travel agencies and online channels.
Operational scope centered on Air Busan’s reservations and distribution functions, affecting the airline’s commercial, revenue management and operations teams responsible for inventory allocation and channel strategy. The deployment aligned booking and fulfillment workflows with Abacus platform standards for LCCs and hybrid carriers active in the region.
The implementation was announced as part of Abacus’ push into the LCC segment, with Abacus reporting a 126% increase in LCC and hybrid carrier bookings in the first half of 2012 and LCCs accounting for 25% of total seats in the same period. Air Busan’s Travelport Abacus GDS deployment is therefore positioned within a broader platform momentum in Reservation and Booking Management across APAC.

In 2020, Air Busan implemented Slack Connect as its Collaboration platform, engaging Salesforce as the vendor. The deployment was planned as a corporate collaboration initiative to provide real time messaging and external partner channels while surfacing Slack functionality on the company website.
Slack Connect at Air Busan was configured to enable channel based communications, file sharing, searchable conversation history, and external collaboration through Slack Connect workspaces. User provisioning and administrative controls were established to support role based access, channel governance, and message retention policies consistent with an airline corporate environment.
