In 2014 Air Mauritius went live with an upgrade to IFS Maintenix v8, implementing IFS Maintenix as its Aviation MRO application to improve real-time access to information, customer service, and internal process throughput. The go-live was positioned as an upgrade to support the airline’s objectives for streamlined processes and sustained change across its maintenance organization.
Deployment focused on centralized MRO functionality delivered via Maintenix v8, with configuration and adoption centered on out-of-the-box capabilities. Functional modules implemented include Materials Management, Engineering, Planning and Maintenance Services, and Financial Management, enabling standardized maintenance workflows and inventory control consistent with industry best practices.
Operational scope covered the airline’s maintenance organization and Technical Services function, extending to planning and finance processes that interface with maintenance operations. The implementation eliminated system redundancy and standardized processes on packaged application behavior, which supported a coordinated, organization-wide approach to maintenance planning, engineering records, materials consumption, and cost capture.
Governance and rollout emphasized adoption of industry best practices and a sustained change program, with executive leadership framing Maintenix v8 as a platform to maintain ongoing advances in technical services. The upgrade was explicitly described as critical to standardization and real-time information access, and as a foundation for continuing process improvements in Air Mauritius’s Aviation MRO operations.
