In 2013, Al-Faisaliah Group executed an IT2 Treasury System Upgrade, running from Sep 2013 to Dec 2013, to move its treasury platform forward using ION IT2 Treasury. The initiative was scoped as a Treasury Management program to expand functional coverage across the corporate group and to prepare the environment for broader service consolidation.
The implementation focused on standard Treasury Management capabilities such as cash and bank account management, payments orchestration, liquidity forecasting, and front-to-back treasury operations consistent with ION IT2 Treasury capabilities. A key technical objective was to extend the IT2 footprint by enabling the IT2 net Service module, the component identified to provide cross‑entity connectivity and centralized service orchestration for multiple business units.
Architecturally the project used a centralized ION IT2 Treasury instance with IT2 net Service as the shared connectivity layer to onboard additional business units, while preserving unit-level treasury workflows where required. Integrations emphasized intra-group banking connectivity and multi-entity cash pooling patterns inherent to Treasury Management deployments, with configuration workstreams to support each business unit’s chart of accounts and bank signatory setups.
Governance and process workstreams were formalized using existing treasury documentation, notably the Treasury and Cash Management Manual previously authored for Al Safi Danone Co and adopted as a reference for Al-Faisaliah Group’s treasury team. Rollout planning targeted staged onboarding of business units, standardized operating procedures, and central policy alignment to ensure the ION IT2 Treasury platform and IT2 net Service could support consolidated treasury operations across the group.
