In 2016, Al Gihaz Holding implemented Microsoft Dynamics GP as its ERP Financial system. Microsoft Dynamics GP was deployed to support companywide finance and asset management processes across Al Gihaz Holding, covering operations in Riyadh and additional sites in the North and Western regions.
The implementation included core financial configuration, a re-implementation of the Dynamics GP Fixed Asset Module and a Project Accounting Module deployment for Al Gihaz Power & Energy Co. The Fixed Asset work involved a data restructure, re integration of over 1600 vehicles equipment and IT assets, and the establishment of FA procedural workflows and business forms. Custom forms and reports were developed using vb.net and business reporting was delivered via Crystal and advanced Excel reports.
The technical stack comprised Microsoft Windows Server 2008 and MS SQL Server 2012, with business intelligence components implemented using Microsoft SQL SharePoint SSIS SSAS and Performance Point. SQL Reporting Services provided operational reporting and an attendance time machine was attached to the Dynamics database for time entry integration. The IT team also provided functional support integration with Oracle EBS for HR procurement and project modules to maintain cross system process continuity.
Implementation governance was led by an internal software development team reporting to the IT manager, responsible for administration upgrades from Dynamics GP v9.0 through v2018 and applying Microsoft hot fixes and service packs. The team conducted business analysis and process re engineering, delivered functional training and daily Dynamics GP support, and served as deputy project manager for a SharePoint based business portal solution implemented in coordination with Netways Arabia. Rollout and support extended to affiliate companies including Stars Horizon Medical Service Co and included project accounting deployments and BI instrumentation for KPIs scorecards and dashboards.
