| FIS Global | Legacy | FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform (ex Front Arena) | Trade Order Management System (TOMS) | Investment Management | n/a | 2015 | 2015 |
In 2015, Al Waha Marine Agency implemented FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform (ex Front Arena) as its Trade Order Management System (TOMS) to consolidate capital markets trading, accounting, and risk workflows across its Abu Dhabi operations. The deployment was delivered as a Hedge360 front-to-back construct, organized to provide a unified trade lifecycle and post-trade processing environment for institutional trading activity.
The implementation was architected as three integrated application components, with FIS Cross-Asset Trading and Risk Platform serving the portfolio management and trade capture functions formerly associated with Front Arena. Complementary modules included a finance management application named VPM for accounting, NAV calculation, and client reporting, and a risk management application named Opturo for fund performance and attribution reporting. Asset classes explicitly handled included stock, bond, repo and reverse repo, interest rate and FX instruments, S&P futures, credit default swaps, and equity swaps.
Operational integrations focused on trade confirmation messaging and settlement orchestration to brokers and custodians, automated accounting handoffs into VPM, and risk reporting feeds into Opturo, supporting front office, middle office, finance, and risk teams. Implementation activities recorded included data migration into the new environment, test environment coordination to provision realistic trade and accounting data, and staged test execution to validate trade lifecycle, settlement, NAV, and attribution workflows.
Governance and rollout was driven by structured QA and business validation practices, led by a QA consultant role responsible for requirements gathering, business requirement documentation, test plan and test case preparation, defect reporting and resolution, and user acceptance testing with business users. Vendor coordination for training and demonstrations was part of the delivery model, ensuring business users were trained on trading, back office confirmation, settlement, accounting, and risk reporting processes within the Trade Order Management System (TOMS) environment.
