In 2018, Albanese Candy implemented UKG Workforce Central HR (ex Kronos Workforce HR) for Core HR. The deployment targeted the company�s 450 employees within its United States manufacturing operations and centralized core employee records and HR process orchestration under the HR organization.
UKG Workforce Central HR was configured to support recruiting and onboarding workflows, analytics and reporting for hiring metrics, and employee lifecycle processes referenced by the HR team. The implementation supported recruitment activities for exempt, nonexempt, and temporary workers, integration with external recruiting firms and RPO relationships as an operational practice, and the use of the Human Capital Management system KRONOS to optimize process efficiencies.
Operational governance was retained in the HR department, reporting to the Director of Human Resources, with the Talent Acquisition Manager and an Employment Brand Manager leading day to day usage. System-supported processes included pre-employment screening, internal marketing for job openings, management of online employer review presence, career-path program administration, and the annual employee engagement survey, with analytics and key metrics used to monitor and manage continuous improvement projects and compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.

In 2014, Albanese Candy implemented ECI Deacom ERP as its Manufacturing ERP to centralize material requisitions, purchase order processing, and MRO inventory control for its Merrillville confectionery operations. The deployment established ECI Deacom ERP as the system of record for parts and procurement workflows supporting plant maintenance and quality activities.
Configured capabilities emphasized Material Requisitions and Purchase Orders for MRO items, master data management for parts including descriptions, specifications, quantities, manufacturers, part numbers, storeroom locations and suppliers, and preventive maintenance staging using PM Carts to support turnaround events. Safety stock parameters and a Component Assembly Exchange Program were implemented to accelerate repairs, while procurement processes incorporated proposal evaluation, price and cost analysis, and terms of sale tracked within ECI Deacom ERP.
Operational scope covered Building and Grounds, QA QC, Sanitation, Maintenance, Engineering, Inventory Control and Purchasing, and included contract management of eight preventive maintenance contractors. Operational practices embedded in the ERP included weekly cycle counts to sustain inventory accuracy, preparation of parts and materials for turnarounds, and laboratory activities such as water testing for boilers and chillers.
Governance and process changes centralized MRO inventory data stewardship and formalized supplier consolidation and procurement negotiation workflows. Those controls and the quick reference of motor and gearbox specifications shortened production line repair downtime from two to three days to two to three hours and reduced HVAC filter suppliers while achieving approximately 20 percent annual cost savings, with weekly cycle counts maintaining inventory integrity.
