The system was configured to record payroll journals and reconcile payroll reports supplied by payroll processing, to maintain multiple bank account reconciliations, and to produce the schedules and trial balance movements required for external audit and group consolidation. Governance and process changes focused on formalizing month end routines, standardized management reporting content, and tighter control around accruals, prepayments and intercompany reconciliation. Controls were embedded to support preparation of statutory schedules, liaison with external advisers for tax and audit deliverables, and supervision of local accounting staff to ensure alignment with group reporting requirements.
