In 2022 Alcool NB Liquor implemented Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations as the core ERP Financial platform to support the rapid launch of Cannabis NB retail and e-commerce operations. Ernst & Young acted as the system integrator on a fixed six month delivery timeline that delivered a unified commerce experience across online and 20 physical stores.
The implementation configured Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations to handle product and catalog management, payment and checkout workflows, operations management for 20 physical stores, and content-driven educational requirements tied to regulatory compliance. The solution was deployed alongside Optimizely Digital Experience Platform to deliver a content-rich commerce front end, and Modern POS was used as the point of sale layer to unify in-store and online transactions.
The architecture used Microsoft Azure cloud infrastructure to provide scalability and absorb traffic spikes during launch, with a native integration between Optimizely and Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Retail and Modern POS. Explicit third party integrations implemented included payment solutions, third party logistics providers, and supplier product information feeds, enabling a connected digital commerce ecosystem and supporting subsequent omnichannel scenarios such as buy online for in-store pick up, ship to home from store, and distributed order management currently under development.
Governance and operational transformation centered on meeting stringent cannabis commercialization regulations, embedding comprehensive educational content and controls into commerce flows to enforce age and product guidance, and enabling a nimble ANBL operations team to manage content and catalog rules. The project went live in under six months, attracted four million page views in the first month, and achieved five percent of sales online in the first month, while the Microsoft Dynamics 365 for Finance and Operations ERP Financial deployment was designed for future scalability and additional omnichannel enhancements.

In 2014 Alcool NB Liquor deployed Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) to centralize enterprise reporting and analytics, aligning the implementation with a concurrent organization wide ERP program using Microsoft Dynamics GP that exceeded $5 million. The deployment targeted Analytics and BI use cases for pricing, demand planning, promotions and product lifecycle reporting across the retail organization.
The Microsoft BI (SSRS, SSAS, SSIS, SQL Server Reporting) implementation emphasized ETL orchestration with SSIS, semantic modeling and cube creation with SSAS, and operational report delivery with SSRS and SQL Server Reporting. Extensive solutions gathering informed a catalog of reports and datasets, and the team executed extensive report building using SQL Server and SSRS to meet merchandising and finance reporting requirements.
Integration work connected the BI platform to the Microsoft Dynamics GP ERP data sources, enabling analytics to support newly defined pricing and demand planning solutions and the testing of pricing, promotions and product lifecycle processes. The rollout covered functional processes across multiple departments, and the program included direct engagement with third party vendors and external consultants to extend capabilities where required.
Governance and change activities were structured around process definition meetings led with nine departments, and a formal training program was developed and implemented consisting of 12 courses delivered to more than 298 people. Project ownership included testing cycles for pricing and promotions, management of vendor relationships, and participation by staff in the Accelerated Leadership Development Program to ensure operational adoption and internal capability building.
